if and when your car key doesn’t work, perhaps it won’t turn or it might sticks in the cylinder, then we take actio and diagnose, repair and replace the ignition cylinders, often with your existing key fitted.
When your car does not start, you may blame your key, but this might not be entirely true, because the problem could actually lie with the ignition cylinder itself.
Many ignition issues are totally connected to key problems and the solution could easily involve fixing one or the other – or even doing both. While replacing a faulty key can solve the problem inexpensively, if the ignition cylinder needs to be replaced, it'll need servicing or repairing depending on its exact condition.
Never force a stuck key. Pulling or twisting could result in breaking off the blade, and leaving it lodged within the ignition cylinder to complicate matters further. If this happens, contact us immediately!
In many cases where there is wear on the ignition cylinder itself, a repair will restore the smooth function of the system without needing to change anything at all. However, if the wear is too extensive and there is damage, replacement may be necessary.
Where an ignition cylinder needs replacing, the cylinder can be replaced with a new cylinder with the same key. In fact, most cylinders we install are re-keyed to match the existing key you use so that you don't need two keys for one car.
